NaNoWriMo and Other Updates

So, hello again! Yes, I am still around. There have been other things taking my time and attention. For example, NaNoWriMo, which I have already thoroughly moaned, panicked, and attempted enthusiasm over.

Well, it’s going pretty well. I am over 11,000 words in my total word count on this project, which isn’t too shabby! And I still have more than 20 days to add to that total, so there is plenty of time to rise and conquer!

The amount of support I’ve received on social media about this daunting venture has been really wonderful. Feeling like I’m not tackling this alone, stuck in my house in front of the computer, trying to focus with yelling children and whining cat in the background, has given me a boost I definitely needed.

On other fronts — I have not had the amount of time I’ve wanted for writing the last couple days because children took priority. Muffin had an Early Intervention evaluation yesterday, which has been at least a month in the making. He has specialist appointments coming up, and all of this requires planning, and time, and paperwork, and all these pesky adulting tasks that I’d rather not engage in while NaNo is going on.

But since, unfortunately, the rest of my life did not seem to get the memo that I am not to be disturbed right now — all of this other stuff is also happening. The good news is that it isn’t constant, so I can still try to stick to the schedule I had planned for NaNo this week, and not fall too far behind. But I will re-send the memo: Everything else, go away, please. Just for a few weeks.

Apart from those of you who hang on my every word here and think I’m amazing. You’re welcome to bug me all you like.

Have a great day, moths!

  1. Wow you are doing so great on NaNoWriMo so far, congratulations! Can’t wait for you to hit the finish line, and I hope you’re loving what you’re writing ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess we all could use a little time alone when we need to write, just to be able to be in our own little writing bubble… I hope you still find moments like that ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Seriously why does everything happen the MOMENT we plan to write?!? I swear November started and 398 people wanted me to do things. (Okay, like 2 people did…but whatever. It’s the same thing when one is TRYING to focus on writing.๐Ÿ˜‚)
Having writing buddies cheer is the best, right?! LOVE IT.
And yaaay congrats on your wordcount! Passing the first 10K of a book is always such a good feeling. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. NO KIDDING, right? I still have the same amount of responsibilities I did in October, so that’s just not fair.

I don’t know if I’d still feel like plowing on at this point in the month without my cheering section. They have meant a lot these last few weeks.
